So Taj Mahal belongs to Pakistan

Or so one of the 'heroes' in a pathetic Pakistani movie called 'Khuda ke Liye' would have you believe.

The hero is supposed to be a 'liberal' Muslim, as opposed to his brother who joins the Taliban. The hero goes to the US, where he introduces himself to girl as a Pakistani. She happens to know nothing about Pakistan, but recognizes 'India of the great Taj Mahal'. Which is when he lays claim over the Taj, as it was built by Shah Jahan, who was a Muslim. He seems rather proud that Muslims ruled India for a thousand years and Spain for 800 years.

Now, the money for the Taj Mahal came from all those who were under Mughal rule. The marble came from Rajasthan, the craftsmen were predominantly Hindu. It might have been constructed in a semi-Islamic style, a grim reminder of Muslim occupation of India. But it does not belong to Muslims.

It is perhaps unfair for me to expect Muslims to not celebrate the Islamic invasion of India, when Hindus themselves don't have the courage to call a spade a spade.

Comments:
Lot of Muslims in Pakistan as well as in India still thinking that they had ruled this subcontinent for more than 1000 years and still their mind set is just like rulers.

How does it matter if Taj mahal belongs to india or pakistan, muslim or hindus?
I, for one does not count it as a symbol of love, but more as a symbol of a king's pride.
Sahir Ludhianvi, that reckless poet, says
"ये चमनज़ार ये जमुना का किनारा ये महल
ये मुनक़्क़श दर-ओ-दीवार, ये महराब ये ताक़
इक शहंशाह ने दौलत का सहारा ले कर
हम ग़रीबों की मुहब्बत का उड़ाया है मज़ाक"

a valid point!

And now, a valid question:
"when Hindus themselves don't have the courage to call a spade a spade."

Do the above comment and the fact that you have link for the acorn mean you have a "right-of-center" ideology ?

I am known to have a markedly different perspective on most issues from all other persons, and I use this forum to present these ideas of mine for the consideration of anyone who cares to hear them out.

I believe that ideas ought derive their source from a single set of axioms. While much of my time is spent on random activities, it is the search of the dazzling truth that those axioms represent that I wish to dedicate my life.
